It is helping Ikea reimagine the world , as it changes.

What is The Common Room:
The Common Room is a nonprofit. It is a public space for innovation, entrepreneurship, design, finance, mentorship, events, library, and strategy.
In the past it has hosted sessions with Bejul Somaya (Lightspeed Ventures) and Avneesh Bajaj ( Matrix Partners).
It’s in Dhan Mill Compound, Chattarpur. The compound has other interesting businesses such as design agencies, roasterie, fashion brands and restaurants.
Who started it?
V Sunil’s and Mohit Jayal ’s Motherland Ventures, and other partners such as Lightspeed Ventures, Bain Capital, Matrix Partners are behind the initiative.
Fariha Ansari is its director.
The duo Sunil and Mohit, are responsible for Incredible India and Make In India campaigns.
They had started an independent agency A On The Web in mid 2000s, which Wieden & Kennedy had acquired.
Their glorious work also includes Indigo, Enfield, Nike, Forest Essentials, Motherland Magazine and Kochi Bienalle.
Post W+K they started Motherland Ventures, with an equally glorious projects such as JDH and The Common Room.

Alex Tran of General Catalyst ( American venture capital firm) was at The Common Room on March 1st 2019.
The firm has invested in Airbnb, Stripe, KAYAK, Deliveroo, Snap Inc., Lemonade, ClassPass, Grammarly, Warby Parker and Hive.
