The travel app provides comprehensive information on trains, passenger amenities at stations, platforms and the speed of the train, along with personalized alerts via the mobile app, mobile web and SMS.
Your Story reports that RailYatri has served over 20 million users since it started. It also clocks an 35 lakh monthly active users approx. across all platforms.
They have raised a funding of INR 70cr approx.
How do they help small businesses?
Bus booking: Travelers can book buses within the app. It currently has 25 buses, but it plans to have 2000 buses.
Food booking: Travelers can book food from the vendors during the train journey. The food is available from different vendors at different stations. Think of it as Zomato for train travel.
Hotel booking: It allows travelers to book hotels by hour. It allows local hotel owners to tap into new demand.
Cab booking: Travelers can book cabs in 100 cities for 400 routes. It generates opportunities for local taxi owners.
