❤️beat: Hyderabad Walking Company
The heritage walk upstart has gone virtual
The heritage walk upstart has gone virtual
Hyderabad Walking Company’s business disappeared after three years of starting. Lock down caused it. Government is unable to revive small businesses.
Navin Sigamany started the venture in 2017. It showcased the food, culture and history of Hyderabad to the business visitors. Hyderabad is not a tourist hotspot such as Agra. He tied up with small businesses such as transporters, craftsmen, city guides and restaurant owners. In 2019 the business had turned profitable. Then COVID–19 happened. It killed the business as the lock down did not allow the domestic travel.
Navin Sigamany wrote on Twitter: The prevailing pandemic has dealt a death blow to many small businesses built around tourists and visitors. Mine is one such. I founded The Hyderabad Walking Company in 2017 to offer a taste of my city to visitors as I had experienced it when I first got here.
He did not give up. He launched a virtual history walks. The first virtual experience is about 600 years old Qutb Shahi Tombs in Hyderabad. He aims to build more travel experiences. Kudos for his courage.
