Did 2019 turn out as businesses predicted?

Digital prophet David Shingy’s most predictions have been wrong. Big companies hire astrologers, as brands are desperate for magical thinking.
Scott Binker is a marketing tech expert, and a VP at Hubspot. He had tweeted: Am I too cynical about “predictions for 2019” posts? More than a few seem to conflate a company’s own hopes/goals with prognostications about what the market will do independent of them. Is it snarky to ask, “How did your predictions for 2018 work out?” A little snarky.
Technologist and marketer Scott Samuel has collated a list of predictions for 2019. Only a few were true:
Voice technology hasn’t captured the market yet.
Chinese social media (Tik Tok) has captured the market.
Brands still do not portray women the right way.
Vertical video is not as big.
Influencer marketing’s popularity is going down.
Ageism is getting worse.
