Mandatory shutdown/lockdown hasn’t stopped small businesses from offering their products and services. They are setting up web-shops to connect with their customers. In the first quarter consumers spent about $23.4b on app stores.
Editorial Boutique is an affordable fashion clothing store in Montreal. Its owner Jackie Wong launched an online shop after the mandatory lockdown. Customers can visit the website, look at the professional grade photographs, and can FaceTime with the stylists. Skincare entrepreneur Sarah set up a web shop to offer 20 minute consulting sessions to her customers.
As per Industry dive: Editorial’s launch is a textbook example of how to go online the right way — extending what your customers know and love about your retail store to your online shop, and reaching new customers while you’re at it. By embracing eCommerce best practices, Editorial Boutique managed to create a seamless transition between brick-and-mortar and online.
Some of the e-commerce best practices are great product images, custom or personalised services for the customers, incentives in the form of free shipping, discounts/offers and easy checkout.
