Even small businesses require to appraise their employees
Performance reviews are rare in small businesses. They take time. Owners/ managers prefer quick feedbacks than long feedback meetings. Experts such as Claire Lew write that performance reviews help teams perform well.
Claire is the founder of Know Your Team. She suggests that managers should act as coaches. They should have a clear agenda for the meeting. Managers should also bring up topics, which is hard to talk about in bigger groups.
Important questions for one to one performance reviews are:
How’s life?
If you could be proud of one accomplishment between now and next year, what would it be?
Would you like more or less feedback on your work? If so, what additional feedback would you like?
