PM Vajpayee loved puris by late Shanti Bajpayee
Without his mother Late Shanti Bajpayee, Bal Kishan Bajpayee wouldn’t have become a favourite of PM Vajpayee, CM Akhilesh Yadav and actor Kartik Aryan. She used to make spices with her hands for the dishes in the shop.
Bal Kishan Bajpayee started his shop 40 years ago. He only sells four dishes. They are kachodi (INR 20), choley bhature (INR 25), puri (INR 20) and khasta (INR 25).
He tells Harry Uppal’s ,”Credit for success goes to only god and my mother. She used to prepare spices and cook the vegetables. At times I thank the customer before God.”
Home-grown food businesses are the future of the Indian food sector. Like Darshinis of Bengaluru, they can become the quick service restaurants.
