It’s the newest trend in eating-out. Food pop-ups are paid meals, which are hosted at the chef’s home, making the experience much more personal.
Shriya Shetty started The Literary Table, a dinner service around the theme of the books such as Harry Potter and Haruki Murakamai. Each meal costs between INR 3000-INR4000.
Development consultant Ragini Kashyap founded Third Culture Cooks. She curates pop-ups on the lines of cross-border cuisines such as Tamils and Sinhalese, Bangladeshis and Bengalis, Tibetans and Chinese. Each meal costs between INR 1900 to INR 2600.
Pooja Pangtey, from Uttarakhand, and Teiskhem (Tei) Lynrah, from Meghalaya were bankers, before hey started their food pop-up Meraki. Each meal costs between INR 2500 and INR 3500.
Eat With India is Zomato for food pop-ups. One can book different meals in different cities.
