Alex Gomberg is a fourth generation businessman. He is running Gomberg Seltzer Works. It supplies soda water in a bottle. Its unique selling point is the its bottles, which do not allow seltzer the fizz to escape, as one pours soda.
Alex’s great grand father had started the business in 1953. After he joined the family business, he changed the business model. Earlier it supplied the soda water to homes. He turned to hotels and restaurants.
Alex says in the video, “One day, Brooklyn Seltzer’s probably gonna be the last one. I can’t imagine too many people getting into this business now, but that’s fine. We’ll tackle the whole area, you know? We’ll keep it goin”.
Today most of the soda water comes in the plastic bottles. But, the quality of the soda is not as good as seltzers. The fizz of seltzer hits at the back of the throat. Bubbles of seltzer are also bigger. It’s similar to the Soda Pop Stop, which is run by John. It sells thirty four types of flavoured sodas.
