Brief:
Oyo launched Power Station, its co-working vertical. It’s first centre is in Pioneer Square, Gurgaon. It will be launching more centres in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
It had acquired Innov8 for INR 220 crore.
Why does it matter?
Delhi-NCR is one of the fastest growing economic hubs of the country.
It also has maximum gig economy jobs ( see the 1st piece). Delhi-NCR also ranks amongst the top three startup ecosystems in the country.
Co-working sector expects 16 million seats and around 9 million sq ft, in the coming year.
The bigger picture:
Delhi-NCR ranks third in terms of number of the co-working spaces. At the same time it has maximum gig economy jobs.
Growth potential is highest for the region for the co-working spaces.
