Can cold calling help bootstrappers
No one likes cold calling. For the callers, it is high effort and low payoff. For the receivers, it is annoying. They want to avoid talking with the strangers. 80% of the cold calls go unattended.
A typical team of cold callers make 70 to 100 calls in a day. They use a script and a CRM database, contact information and a brief research about the business. In 9–10 hours of work, a cold caller can land 1–5 meetings for demos. The success rate is about 1%. The shelf life of a cold caller is between 6 and 12 months. They burn out and search for another opportunity. Successful cold callers move to better roles.
