Rikki Kher, the founder of Kardo started making his own shirts. He did not find what he wanted in the market. People began to comment on these items and express interest in buying them, and this was the starting point for Kardo.
Kardo shirts (Spring Summer Collection) are made of hand woven fabrics. The fabric is super lightweight and woven on hand looms by master weavers in India. They feature intricate stripes, contemporary shapes and subtle sporty detailing. The average price of a shirt is INR 4,500 and above.
It’s a market that’s trying to solve an issue for men who are 30-plus, who want to be stylish but are looking for very high-quality product that doesn’t speak too loudly,” Kher said.
Kardo also sells Ikat ties, small leather wallets and some canvas and leather bags. It also plans to make a line of shoes. Shahpurjat is home to independent brands such as Wishing Chair and Safomasi.
