Sapra Biscuits started in 1986. They are from North Delhi.
They defy all the myths of doing a business:
They produce a daily use stuff. It’s not fancy.
They focus on quality and standards.
They have been in business for thirty two years.
They employ up-to 15 people.
They sell online and through seven stores in Delhi.
Third generation is in charge:
Sumit is its current director.
He trained as an engineer and interior designer.
What did he bring to the business?
In the first few years he understood the business, and learnt its processes.
He introduced online presence with a website and online delivery.
He worked on branding. Earlier his majority of the clients were older people. Now younger people are also connecting.
He explored B2B segment. Earlier it was all retail.
Listening to customers is the key. He has introduced new productrs such as glutton free biscuits and protein biscuits.
What’s next?
Expand the business, but not with more outlets. Sumit wants to increase the current 58 to 100 types of cookies and biscuits.
Invest more in logistic and management.
Invest in technology. He regularly updates himself by going to trade fairs such as AAHAR.
