Mcdonald’s did not launch new products in Delhi NCR
Last week Mcdonald’s announced new product launches:
Masala Dosa Brioche.
Anda Bhurji
Chatpata-Naan
Italian and Mexican rice bowls.
There is a catch:
Only stores in West and South will be launching new products.
Mcdoanld’s will not be launching the products in Delhi-NCR.
Hard Castle restaurants control West and South, while CPRL is North and East’s franchise.
Why does Mcdonald’s not love Delhi-NCR?
CPRL is the master franchise for Delhi. Since 2013 both are fighting against each other. Fight is on.
CPRL is still fighting the court cases against Mcdonald’s India.
Mcdonald’s India ended their franchise contract with CPRL in 2017.
On 5th April NCALT postponed the hearing for today, 24th of April.
CPRL tied up with Coldex. There may be discrepancy in terms of product quality and authenticity.
Who is benefiting from this uncertainty?
Competitor brands such as Domino’s, KFC, Burger King and Subwayare benefiting in terms of market share.
Dominos overtook Mcdonald’s as the country’s biggest QSR brand.
Domino’s profits increased more than three times for the quarter ending December, 2017.
Hard Castle will be doubling the stores from 279 to 500. CPRL is stuck with 169 restaurants.
