Government is divesting its share in Air India
Like an Indian king Air India has decamped the treasury.
It’s up for sale.
However, no other airline had so much going for them.
Everyone from British to India’s first PM to JRD to the government had pursued Maharaja.
It has an interesting past:
JRD Tata founded Tata Airlines in 1932. It was a division of Tata Sons.
In 1946 it became Air India, as a pubic limited company.
Delhi is it’s primary hub.
In 1953 it got nationalised.
It’s annual accumulated losses run in billions. $10bn losses & as much debt.
The common between two logos was the Konark wheel.
