As per the experts Atma Nirbhar Abhiyan will not help Indian businesses in the long term. Without demand any amount of supply will not help the producers. Yet, businesses like Amber Enterprises have grown.
Amber Enterprises manufactures manufactures parts for air conditioners, washing machines and other appliances produced by the likes of LG Electronics Inc., Hitachi Ltd. and Voltas Ltd. It qualifies for the production linked incentive program.
As per Bloomberg: India in October banned the import of air conditioners with refrigerants. Since then, Amber has signed six new customers for filling gas into the appliances.
The self reliant scheme plans to spend spend $27 billion in coming years on a production-linked incentive program. It aims to benefit manufacturers of everything from textiles to chemicals, and lure them away from China.
