Though, Kainaz and Rahul studied hotel management, both did not become chefs. Kainaz worked with Taj Group and became a food writer. Rahul was a sommelier and chose to volunteer for Roots Cafe in Gurgaon.
In 2013 Rahul teamed up with founders of Roots Cafe to open Cafe Lota. By 2015 Cafe Lota earned laurels for focussing on local ingredients and competitive pricing. In 2014 Kainaz teamed up with Rahul, to open Rustom’s. Before opening both ran a limited delivery menu. Rustom’s is the go to place for the best Parsi thali in Delhi.
Together they run Divided Attention Hospitality. They partner with other brands such as Blue Tokai and Nappa Dori to manage their cafes and kitchens. In the future they would want to open Rustom’s in Mumbai.
