The next best thing to customers buying your products and services is the customers telling you about the products and services. Speaking with the customers is the surest way to improve communications, customer care, after sales service and the features.
When I work with a brand to improve their marketing communications, the first thing I do is to start profiling customers. Even if the brand’s team does not have a marketing plan or a brand strategy, the insights will make them act better than before. Ask six basic questions and see if it helps your business.
Just do it:
Why did you buy the product or the service?: Know the pain point your product is solving.
How did you come to know about the brand?: Through social media, or word of mouth or a trade show.
What do you like about the brand or the product?: Tell your prospective customers why they should buy the product.
What do you dislike about the product or the brand?:Double down on knowing the cause, and improve.
Do you plan to buy another product and why?: Your clue to work on the next product or share the info about the product.
How do you rate the brand on the scale of 1 to 10? You get to know who will promote or distract your product, and who are passive users.
