Noida metro is half useful
Ridership of Noida metro is falling. It is equal to the number of buses running from Greater Noida to Noida.
Ridership of Noida metro is falling. It is equal to the number of buses running from Greater Noida to Noida.
Why is it so low?
Bad connectivity is the single most reason. The nearest Delhi Metro station in sector 51 is 3 kilometres away from Noida City Centre.
Last mile connectivity in Greater Noida is lacking. Most commuters use their personal vehicles to travel.
State road transport provides better connectivity with Noida. Buses run at regular interval from Pari Chowk to Noida and Delhi.
Why does it matter?
Incomplete connectivity with Delhi Metro and last mile connectivity in Greater Noida will prevent people from choosing Greater Noida.
New businesses will not set up their bases in the city, as it will be difficult to find the talent. Investor Clinic predicts better realty market.
Big expenditure, low returns:
Government has spent INR 5503 (estimate) crore on the project. Delhi Metro’s cost is more than INR 70,000 cores.
Each kilometre of track has cost INR 143 crore.
Daily ridership is 15,000, which is 35,000 less than the estimated.
