Facebook is offering grants to help small businesses
Facebook is not as evil as people think. They are helping the indie businesses to bounce back. More than 70% of the small businesses advertise on Facebook.
As per Facebook: We know that your business may be experiencing disruptions resulting from the global outbreak of COVID-19. We’ve heard that a little financial support can go a long way, so we’re offering USD 100M in cash grants and ad credits to help during this challenging time.
30,000 small businesses from 30 countries will receive grants from Facebook. Business should have 2 to 50 employees. It should be at least a year old. COVID-19 must have affected it. It should be in a location, where Facebook operates. Indian businesses are eligible. The grant comprises of INR 63000 in cash. Facebook will also give ad credits worth INR 38,000. GST registration and Pan number documents are compulsory for applying. Facebook presence is not.
Other than the grant Facebook has a resource centre for small businesses. Indie businesses can learn things such as sharing gift cards and food ordering options on Instagram and a guide for setting up the online presence. Facebook also helps small businesses with hiring and remote work. Indie businesses can join Indian specific Facebook group- Boost With Facebook India.
