It started as a small distillery in 1943. It supplied bulk alcohol for Shaw Wallace, Mohan Meakin and the United Breweries Group.
Today it owns 30 brands.
Timeline
1943: G N Khaitan founded Rampur Distillery & Chemical Company Ltd. at Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.
1972: He bought a loss making distillery from Vishnu Hari Dalmia.
1995: Lalit Khaitan inherited the liquor division from his father.
1999: Radio Khaitan launched 8PM whisky. Lalit’s son Abhishek joins the business.
2004: Radico purchased Bacardi’s 51% stake in Whytehall India.
2005: Radico launched Magic Moments. it earns more revenue than 8 PM.
2006–2011: Joint venture with Diageo. In 2011 it bought back the stake.
2018: FY18’s revenue was $ 1bn approx.
