Small businesses should focus on paid social media. Organic social media does not reach more than 6% of its target audience. Brands with a million followers are not able to reach even .5% of the market.
Brands will never be able to reach more than 90% of their audience, even if their content is good. On Twitter, Google is able to reach only 9.5% of the online shoppers organically. The story is same with Instagram and Facebook. Instead, brand should focus on doing paid social. Paid social means buying ads on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. It gives sure shot reach.
Marketer Ian Barnard tweeted: This is why paid social is so, so important.You cannot rely on organic social media to move the needle in a meaningful way. It’s like bringing a squirt gun to a forest fire.
He suggested that businesses should go through the presentation ‘Brand Building on Social Media’ to understand how brands should use paid social to grow.
