Celebrity Chef and owner of 11 hotels in restaurant decided to shut down his business. 1500 employees worked in famous restaurants such as Locanda Verde and The Dutch. He has retained only 100 employees.
Another famous restauranteur Danny Meyer says, “Mandated closings wisely protect communities, but minus [revenue], restaurants alone simply cannot fully care for our people and be able to reopen when this storm passes.”
Most restaurant employees live pay cheque to pay cheque. Without the jobs it will be difficult to pay the bills. Similar to India, restaurant business owners are expecting tax breaks.
