Most of the business owners have ‘imposter syndrome’. They feel that clients will find out their incompetence. Imposter syndrome afflicts those who are achievers and performers.
As per Jillian of Small Giants Community: If you’re new to the concept, imposter syndrome is a feeling of fraudulence, despite data and history of high achievement — it’s a pervasive fear of being ‘found out’ despite evidence to the contrary. People struggling with imposter syndrome often experience self-doubt and a sense that their achievements are simply a result of good luck.
Learn to avoid the syndrome.
Recognise it. Few of the signs are overworking and procrastinating, comparing with other successful people.
Know your talent. Know what essential skills you have. Assess yourself with tools such as DISC
Document success. Maintain a journal about what you accomplished. Also, approach the failures to know the reasons.
It’s alright to say, “I don’t know.” Ask questions and encourage co-workers to ask questions.
Connect with others, who feel the same. Sharing helps getting new perspective to deal.
